HEAT CLOSURE: The outdoor living history exhibits will close June 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., due to the heat index. The Visitor Center and the St. John's Site Museum will remain open until 4:00 p.m.

The Struggle for Freedom exhibit has reopened to visitors Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Our maritime exhibit, Maryland Dove, will be away from home port beginning June 15, 2026, to transit to and participate in Sail 250 Virginia in Norfolk, Virginia.

Anyone wanting to use a drone on museum property (including the nature trails and Chancellor’s Point) MUST receive permission from Historic St. Mary’s City. Email sharol.buck@maryland.gov for information.

Any professional photography to be taken on the grounds requires permission from the External Relations Manager. At least 24-hour notice is preferred. For permission, email sharol.buck@maryland.gov
