Erin Crawford is the Collections Manager for the Department of Research and Collections. She received her B.S. in Anthropology from Towson University and is currently enrolled in the Johns Hopkins Museums Studies program to obtain her M.A. Between 2013 and 2015, Erin spent three consecutive summers at HSMC interning for the research department and participating in the field school. She was then hired to work on the Anne Arundel Replacement Project, one of the ongoing archaeology projects at the time.
Now working as Collections Manger, Erin facilitates the care of each artifact in the collection by tracking the organization of storage spaces and exhibits and maintaining proper environmental conditions. She also maintains the collections database that houses digital records created during field and lab work. Her primary research interests are in curation and collections management, as well as collaborative research with other disciplines to answer complex questions using data recovered archaeologically.
