Southern Maryland National Heritage Area Passport Program

Historic St. Mary’s City is proud to be one of 15 participating sites in the new Southern Maryland National Heritage Area Passport Program, an initiative designed to inspire exploration across Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s, and Southern Prince George’s Counties.

This regional program—developed and led by the Southern Maryland National Heritage Area—invites visitors to collect custom stamps at designated heritage sites that showcase the region’s rich history, vibrant culture, and natural beauty. Complimentary passport booklets are available at each location, with space to commemorate your journey one stamp at a time.

Participating sites include:

  • Historic St. Mary’s City
  • Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center
  • Calvert Cliffs (stamps available in Spring)
  • Calvert Marine Museum
  • Darnall’s Chance House Museum
  • Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House
  • Historic Sotterley
  • Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum
  • Maryland Veterans Museum
  • Patuxent River Naval Air Museum
  • Piney Point Lighthouse Museum and Historic Park
  • Piscataway Park
  • Serenity Farm
  • The Surratt House Museum
  • Thomas Stone National Historic Site (stamps available in Spring)

Please note: Some sites have seasonal hours or winter closures. We recommend checking each site’s website or calling ahead before planning your visit.
