Not exactly. Some buildings are reconstructions, meaning they were built on their original 17th-century locations using historical evidence to reflect how they once looked. These include the Brick Chapel (c. 1667), Cordea’s Hope, Smith’s Ordinary, and the Print House.

Others are recreations—new buildings designed to represent the style and function of 1600s structures, but built in different locations. These include the Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation, the Woodland Indian Hamlet, and the State House.

Together, these buildings help bring the stories of early Maryland to life!
